Viscosity Index Improvement

VISCOPLEX^® Series 10 additives are polymethacrylate polymers that increase the viscosity more at high temperatures and less at low temperatures. This is particularly desirable in environmentally friendly lubricants when wide operating temperature ranges are needed.

Shear Stable Thickening

VISCOPLEX^® Series 10 additives can be used to adjust the viscosity of vegetable and synthetic base oils. Products are available to meet the shear stability requirements of various lubricant applications. Because these products are made and delivered in biodegradable diluent oils, the environmental characteristics of the finished lubricant are not affected.

Pour Point and Cold Temperature Fluidity

Biobased and biodegradable lubricant oils have particular challenges for cold temperature storage. VISCOPLEX^® Series 10 additives are designed to improve the simple pour point (ASTM D97) performance of these oils, but also to stabilize the fluidity under conditions of extended cold temperature storage. They allow lubricant oils to remain fluid for up to two weeks at -30°C and up to four weeks at -25°C.
