Find the Best Hydraulic Fluid for Your Systems

Abstract
An operator or designer of hydraulic equipment can be faced with a confusing array of options when selecting a hydraulic fluid. Beyond choosing between conventional, synthetic or biodegradable oils, one has to navigate and compare several different methods for describing the additive performance and viscosity grade. This session will provide useful guidelines for choosing the best hydraulic fluid for a single piece of equipment or a diverse fleet, even when equipment manuals seem to disagree. Attendees will receive hands-on instruction and reference tools that can be put to work right away. Special attention will be paid to newer performance definitions for hydraulic fluids that can operate over wider temperature ranges and increase the efficiency, productivity and fuel economy of hydraulic equipment.
