Throughout the world, the growth in lube oil demand is outpacing the growth in lube oil supply. This has made the global lube oil market extremely tight, and has made methods to expand the capacity and quality of existing sources in high demand. RohMax is answering the need – providing refinery additives that offer the most advanced technology to improve filtration rates and oil yield. VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids are designed to help lube refineries meet their growing demand and increase their revenues.

Based upon an extensive portfolio of robust chemistry, VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids are universally applicable in solvent dewaxing processes with a full range of differing lube oil viscosity classes – especially the highly valued brightstock.

VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids increase the revenues of Group I lube refineries by:

  • Increasing the feedstock throughput in the solvent dewaxing unit (SDU)
  • Increasing the dewaxed oil yield in the SDU
  • Decreasing the oil in wax content of the slack wax in the SDU

VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids improve operations in solvent dewaxing units by:

  • Reducing the rate of filter blinding
  • Reducing the needed filter wash frequency
  • De-bottlenecking the rotary drum filters in the SDU
  • De-bottlenecking the solvent recovery system in the SDU

VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids:

  • Do not require costly capital expenditure
  • Can be implemented fast and easily

VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids are wax crystal modifiers used at very low treat rates, which can through adsorption and co-crystallization effects, convert normally poor filtering wax crystals into more desirable forms. While these aids do not affect the amount of wax precipitated, they do improve the processing rate and oil-wax separation efficiency.

VISCOPLEX® dewaxing aids are unique because they contain no incorporated sulfur, chlorine, phosphorus, or metals. They have no effects upon catalysts and decompose cleanly. Consequently, they are inert toward equipment and other refinery processes.
